Jiangjin District, as an essential pivot in the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and a vital gateway to the cooperative Sichuan and Guizhou regions, serves as a significant window for Chongqing’s opening up. It also represents a critical port connecting the “Belt and Road” Initiative (BRI) with the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and a critical node connecting the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor with the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. The Luohuang Port Industrial City is the primary battlefield for Jiangjin District to build an advanced inland open area and a comprehensive land-sea integrated logistics base.
Currently, Jiangjin District boasts 11 expressways, 8 railways, 127 kilometers of the golden waterway of the Yangtze River, and five deepwater ports. Among them, Luohuang Port, one of Chongqing’s five major regional key ports, has an annual throughput capacity of 20 million tons and seamlessly connects to the Xiaonanya Railway Logistics Center via a dedicated railway line. Jiangjin District features the Xiaonanya Railway Logistics Center, with an annual handling capacity of 20 million tons and the capability for self-station marshaling and whole-train dispatch. Additionally, the district is also home to the Jiangjin Comprehensive Bonded Zone and other open platforms.
